In 2022 I worked for Billie Achilleos on Terry Gilliam's production of Into the Woods. We built the Milky White, bird puppets and prototyped a death puppet that was later cut. The production ran at the Royal Theatre Bath in the summer and Autumn of 2022.

Testing the body structure

Trying on the prototype with the actor
The structure went through multiple revisions before the finished puppet. The legs were constructed from varying sizes of PVC pipe with alluminium supports for strength and for the puppeteer to grip onto.
The body was made of retuiculated foam and the head and neck from plasterzote with a mesh for visability. The nose of the final pupet was able to open to put the magical items inside and was created using a push and click bin lid mechanism. .
The body was made of reticulated foam
